About the Role
Supporting an Indian Health Service (IHS) outpatient clinic in Gallup, New Mexico and are seeking an Internal Medicine Physician (General Internist) for a flexible locum/contract assignment.
This is a clinic-based role focused on adult outpatient care, offering a predictable weekday schedule with no call responsibilities. The position is structured to accommodate part-time or full-time availability, depending on provider preference and clinic needs.
What You’ll Do
Provide outpatient internal medicine care to adult patients
Manage chronic conditions and routine visits
See approximately 15–17 patients per day when scheduled
Coordinate referrals and follow-up care as needed
Schedule
Flexible (part-time or full-time based on availability)
Monday–Friday clinic hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM when scheduled)
No call, no nights, no weekends
Work Environment
Established outpatient clinic setting
Supported by nursing staff, medical assistants, and administrative personnel
Case management available for referrals
EHR access provided
Compensation
Hourly locum rate (1099/contract)
Annualized salary range displayed per job board requirements

Requirements
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
Current BLS certification
Ability to obtain and maintain IHS credentialing and privileges (typically 4–6 weeks)
Experience in outpatient/internal medicine settings preferred
Ability to manage adult patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions
